WEEK 1 ANALYSIS: BUSINESS & BLOGS

During this assignment I was able to analyze three very unique blogs and compare and contrast them. The blogs were for Full Sail UniversityDollar Shave Club, and Science World. Right from the start I see a lot of similarities from these three different organizations. These blogs are obviously all professionally done. When a reader comes to their blogs I know that they can easily see that these are successful organizations that are creative and innovative. With all their blogs you can get a look into the personality of the organization from their post, photos, and videos.
Full Sail University's blog definitely gives a feeling of excitement when looking at all the photos and achievements on their blog. Dollar Shave Club is very comical on their blog and you definitely see that they have a sense of humor when it comes to their company. With Science World you can tell that when you visit their museum there is a lot of colorful fun and interaction. These blogs also all are utilized by the organizations to share news and events with the public and give you an insight into some of their customers, students, and visitors.
On the Science World blog page and the Dollar Shave Club blog page I noticed that they have a feed that you can scroll down the page and view. These are obviously the latest blog entries on their pages. Where as the Full Sail Blog had a very different style. I also think because Science World and Dollar Shave Club deal more with the everyday public more of their blogs are directed at the general public. With Full Sail their audience are mostly those in the entertainment industries and of course their students and potential students.
The Full Sail University blog and the Dollar Shave Club Blog are both trying to present their brand on their blogs. They are really showing who they are and what they are about. Like with the Dollar Shave Club it just looks very "manly" where you can tell that they have a service for men. And on the Full Sail Blog you can tell this is a school dealing with visual arts because everything is big and appealing to the eyes. With the huge pictures and fonts; everything just really jumps out at you from the page. This is attractive to someone looking to get into visual arts. With the Science World blog their page has pictures, but it is still a very simple layout and doesn't give you much to go on until you start reading their content.
The Full Sail and the Science World blog are similar in that they both use the blogs to showcase their organization, upcoming events, and important news. On the Dollar Shave Club blog they show more of their interaction in the community with fund raisers, contest, and things of that nature, but not really any events and news that really showcases their company. With Full Sail and Science World you get more of a behind the scenes look into the organizations and their people. Everything is very colorful and bright and it is all about learning! I also feel like they are the same and different from Dollar Shave Club because they are not trying to sell a particular product.
That brings me to the uniqueness of Dollar Shave Club in that they have a product and service that they are trying to present to the public and their blog is a good way for them to tell more of their story so they can be more relatable to their target audience. And as I said before, they have taken a unique and comical approach on how they display their online presence. What is unique about Science World is that they are a not-for-profit organization that just wants to bring more science awareness to the public through their museum. What is unique about Full Sail is that when it comes to education that are one of the most innovative in giving a real world experience in the entertainment and media industries.
