WK4 Lynda.com Certification: Audition CS6 Essential Training

This was a very interesting tutorial. I have never worked with a program that was specifically for enhancing and correcting audio. I have done a little bit with iMovie and Final cut pro, but nothing like this. This is definitely another tutorial that I will have to go through again and work with it at my own pace. One of the most important parts of the tutorial was getting to know some of the terminology when it comes to audio.

WK1 Lynda.com Certification: Up and Running with Premiere Pro CS6

I am so thankful for this tutorial. I have been using Final Cut Pro and really getting used to it, but I feel this Adobe Premiere Pro is definitely more advanced. I will definitely go back and go over this again at my own pace because I want to really start using this program instead of Final Cut Pro. To use this program I also think you need to have some previous knowledge with some type of editing software. I definitely want to get more into video editing so this tutorial was more than useful and very vital being that I have never used this program before. Again, I am going to go back through this entire tutorial at my own pace to really grasp all the information.

MCBS Portfolio Project Submission 2

Star Rating Sought: 2 or 3

Project Subscription: This was a video that I did for GuiceHair's Youtube Channel. It was made as an promotional video to showcase what type of videos she does on her channel and the type of services she offers. I put the videos together, added the music and text, and also did all the editing. Below I put a link to the video on my channel as well as on her channel to show that this was a previously made video because I just uploaded it to my channel so that I could turn it in.

Feedback Received: She loved the video and also got great feedback from her friends on her Facebook page.

Resources Utilized: I used Final Cut Pro to create and edit this video. I also used video footage from the GuiceHair YouTube Channel.

MCBS Portfolio Project Submission 1

Star Rating Sought: 1

Project Description: This project was done in our Project Management course. We were to create a project proposal using a template given by our instructor for a project plan that we came up with. My project was to take a program that the Houston Space Center has called "Lunch with an Astronaut" and turn it into an invent that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 13 movie release.  We created a logo for the project using photoshop. We also created a timeline, budget, and marketing plan for the project.

Feedback Received: During the duration of creating this project I made several changes. I needed to change the celebrity guest that I had in order to make this something that was actually attainable in real life. I also had to make changes to the budget to make it more realistic. I also had to make a change to the risk analysis to show a more accurate likelihood of the risk that I listed happening in the process of the event. My instructor informed me that my project was portfolio ready after the proper changes were made.

Resources Utilized: The resources I used were the Pages app, the template that the instructor gave us, photoshop, excel, powerpoint, and google drive.

AET Week 4 Peer Review

This is my Peer Review for a Prototype ad of my fellow classmate Elizabeth Peterson for our Aesthetics and Theory of Communications class using the RISE Model for Peer Feedback.

Her ad and my review are below:

by Elizabeth Peterson

Reflection: First, I want to say that you did an amazing job on this prototype project. For this project you explained that you were going with a Futuristic Couture concept and wanted to go with a digital theme with a silver, black, and blue color scheme. I feel that your ad was definitely effective in portraying that futuristic feeling. The shoe itself looks very futuristic with the metal on the heel and the spikes. The colors and font that you used for the slogan was also very fitting for your concept because it makes me think of all things dealing with space ships and outer space too. Using the pixels also added to the digital theme that you were going with and with the shoe coming down into the pixels it really looks like someone is stomping on the pixels with the shoe. It gives a feeling of the shoe stepping into the future and I really love that!

Inquiry: So, I wondered what exactly were you trying to communicate with the floor that the shoe is standing on merging with the shoe, I don’t know if that is exactly what is going on, but it looks as if it is. It really gives the focus to the shoe in the photo and looks like everything is giving energy to it, so I wondered if that was why it looked like that, or if it was even a floor.

Suggestion: Did you consider putting any other symbols of fashion in your ad? I know you mentioned that you didn’t want to include a model or anything like that because it may be mistaken for something else, and with the shoe someone may think it is an ad only about shoes. Maybe you can ad a purse or futuristic jewelry that would also show that your ad is about the world of fashion and not just a particular industry.

Elevate: Again, your ad is really great and I can tell you put a lot of work and detail in to it. There is really not much you can refine, but maybe making the slogan that you have can be placed closer to the shoe so there is not a lot of space. I know you mentioned that you were also trying to be conscious of whitespace and it looks good, but it could be a little closer. Or maybe spread the slogan out so that there is visual balance on both sides of your ad. Other than that I don’t see anything else that needs to be refined because I feel that your ad really reflects the concept you were going for. Again, awesome job!
